Parent Training
INNERPATHWORKS recognizes the importance that the parents, family and community play in the healthy development and launch into a soulfully rich adulthood. We are also aware of the lack of training available to parents about this important transition and how to support it in the best way possible. This is why we offer the Empowering Young Adults, Parent Workshop.
Here is the Problem
The journey to authentic adulthood has all but been lost in modern culture. Even the basics for practical success in the present economic system are not provided within the traditional education system. One can graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree and still not know how to establish or live within a budget, know how to show up and work or even how to choose and cook healthy food.
However, one of the most important training elements to be abandoned is the art of assisting the young to find their unique place in the circle of life. We are all different, no two people are the same. Each of us has a part to play in bringing balance to our environment, contributing to the health of each other and our planet. It is the responsibility of parents, mentors and elders to assist each young person to find a type of service that best matches the young person's gifts, learning style and natural genius.
One model does not fit all! Much of the stress individuals experience today is because they are being forced or forcing themselves to try and succeed using methods that don't match with how their individual brain functions. A parent or teacher who acts as if there is only one way to accomplish a task could be unknowingly driving the youth into unneeded stress which can lead to actions of escape and addiction.
True transition into authentic adulthood does include struggle and a certain amount of stress, appropriate action results in tranforming into your authentic potiential rather than conforming to the demands of a system.
So the question we need to ask is "how do I create an environment where my child is prepared for life, understands his or her authentic gifts, and utilizes his or her natural genius for success and service".
Principles Covered
INNERPATHWORKS and SouLore's Empowering Young Adults work together to provide a training for parents to assist them launching adult children. The three day Parent Workshop is offered every other month in Sandpoint, Idaho. Participants leave with the tools for healthy support, an understanding of the transition process, a new lease on their own lives, and a sense of peace about their role for their son or daughters future success.
