INNERPATHWORKS
Components
INNERPATHWORKS uses the following components to awaken creativity, intuition, awareness, innovation, resilence and joy. For many, this is the start of the Heroe's Journey into authentic adulthood. All activities are designed to inspire a balanced life customed to match your soul's calling to come home to yourself.
Expect to work hard, play hard and sleep well. Days are full of both staff structured and student structured activities, including time to wander, wonder and play.
INNERPATHWORKS experience and curriculum recognizes a higher power or Creator. Students have come from many religions and philosophies or from no religious background. The normal testimony is that the exercises have enriched and enhanced their spiritual life.
Academics
Most students choose to utilize the college credits one can earn through our curriculum. Most of the course work is experiential followed by writing assignments and sharing. Currently, the credits are in eco-psychology through Portland State University.
Brain Function Assessment
We use the Benzinger Brain Assessment with our semester students to help them identify the student's brain energy advantage. Utilizing your brain advantage for 51% of your day lowers stress, increases productivity and can help you live 30 years longer. The finding help students choose life paths that match their genius.
Creative Arts
Your "soul identity" awakens when you stretch your imagination. We enjoy creating using many types of art: photography, film, drawing, painting, sculpture, woodwork, blacksmithing and more. Envisioning and creating your future starts with being able to imagine what you want to create.
Creator-Based Spirituality
There is a voice within each one of us that links us to the Creator and to all things. Christians call it the Holy Spirit, Science calls them webstrings, and natives call it the Spirit that Moves in All Things. The first principle is to let yourself be the "awesome gift" that you would be if you weren't afraid to be yourself. There are many lessons which make us a valuable asset to this time and place. Students learn to quiet negative brain chatter and listen to that still small voice.
Entrepreneur Skills
Creative projects, called "personal expansion projects" are the norm at InnerPathWorks with opportunity to learn to make them profitable. Some participants will be seeking to start up their own business while here. For these we offer tips and coaching on how to get started.
Music
Singing, dancing, playing an instrument and creating music are all ways to open your mind and body to stepping into the fullness you were created to enjoy.
Native Scout Awareness
One of the most important skills for growth and expansion is awareness. Native scouts were so tuned into their senses and the natural flow of the earth that they knew what was going on around them for a great distance. This gave them incredible wisdom, opportunities and adventures. Dr. Daniel Siegal, author of "Mind Sight", speaks of this type of knowing, which he calls mindful awareness. This type of awareness expands the neural-links in the pre-frontal lobe.
Nature Connection
Most human beings are aliens on their own planet, according to Tom Brown, Jr., creator of the Tracker School. Being at home on your own planet creates a sense of belonging that many lack. Knowing that no matter what happens you have the skills and connection in nature to thrive relieves fears and empowers one to live with passion.
Practical Life
The first step to success is to show up and do your best. The everyday chores and home ownership resposibilities are utilized here as a foundation for life. Other important skills taught include emotional intelligence, communication skills, teamwork and leadership: how to show up for life while thinking outside the box.
Storytelling
Listening to, telling, writing and acting out stories has long been a way to pass forward wisdom, as well as to dislodge disempowering unconscious beliefs. We use a journaling style that helps you live your life as an adventure.
Sustainable Earth Wisdom
We explore how to live in harmony with the earth using a lots of skills that your grandparents knew. We explore living with the wild, permaculture style gardening, preserving, canning, baking, cooking from scratch, cutting and burning fire wood and many more basic skills. Much has been lost as to how to be a caregiver on this planet instead of taking.
Vision Quests
Vision Quests have been a vital part of so many cultures and traditions as a means of finding one's life direction and purpose. It is a three or four day break from the ordinary, done in a remote secluded place where one cry's to the Creator for a vision for their life. Students who fulfill the prerequisites are offered the opportunity to experience a transformative vision quest.
